ROOMS 3 AND 7

Heteróclitos: 1128 objetos

Um protótipo arquitetónico por André Tavares e Ivo Poças Martins

In the CIAJG’s room, where the collections were previously displayed in autonomous units («pre-Columbian» and «ancient Chinese art»), protected by a large showcase, a new “display” has been designed that combines objects from the four collections, which now observe each other. In the “mask room”, one of the CIAJG’s emblematic spaces, where African masks are permanently displayed, the orientation of the exhibition supports is inverted, involving a subtle rotation that produces a profound change in the perception of the objects on display.
