Ongoing project
Illuminated Lessons

One of the key achievements of previous editions of the Illuminated Lessons project has been the children’s sustained ability to relate to the museum, recalling in every workshop what they saw, heard, felt and learned. For this reason, the workshops once again commit to the same principle: the starting point is the CIAJG. It is through the permanent exhibition and the first visit to the museum that bridges will be built towards artistic creation, critical thinking and creative thinking.
In 2025/2026, the Illuminated Lessons project seeks to continue its mission of bringing the school community closer to the museum, emphasising the importance of museums as places of encounter, sharing, discovery and discussion, and demonstrating how culture is essential to stimulating creativity and critical thinking in new generations. Throughout this edition, the proximity between school and museum will be strengthened, as students in the first cycle of basic education are at a stage in which discovery and imagination are key drivers of learning. Through contact with the museum, what is learned in the classroom context can be expanded and consolidated through what is observed, questioned and connected to the surrounding environment.
In June 2026, an exhibition created in co-creation between the artist Mariana Vilanova and the children from the 14 third-grade classes of the first cycle of basic education will be presented at the CIAJG.
